In 2020, Calgary saw the birth of MegaPixx Media. Greg and his partners, Bruno, Miranda, and Al, bought a business news website called “Calgary Business.” Their plan? Using it as a launchpad to promote their own businesses is a smart move in today’s digital world.
However, just two weeks in, the world hit a curveball. The COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, crippling economies and forcing businesses to adapt. While many companies folded, the MegaPixx Media team saw a chance to shine.
The pandemic wasn’t kind. The elderly faced isolation, children missed out on crucial social development due to school closures, and small businesses? They were especially hard hit. Big box stores thrived as “essential services,” while countless smaller businesses were forced to shut down.
Witnessing the struggles of fellow entrepreneurs, MegaPixx Media decided to act. They knew many businesses lacked the online tools and know-how to get their message out. So, they transformed their platform.
Their new mission? To help businesses tell their stories effectively through video podcasts. This powerful tool allowed businesses to showcase their expertise, reach a wider audience online (think more eyeballs!), and ultimately, grow.
